Become a Volunteer

Volunteers play a tremendous role across all of United Community’s programs and services. We depend on the support of our community to help fulfill our mission.

Volunteer opportunities can help in a number of ways:

  • Serve hungry families by sorting, stocking and distributing food.
  • Support annual food drives.
  • Assist with fundraising activities.
  • Provide translation assistance.
  • And more!

*All volunteers must be at least 16 years of age. Volunteer ages 16 to 17 must be accompanied by an adult guardian.

Becoming a volunteer is easy.

  1. Register as a volunteer by clicking here. Provide your contact information, let us know what types of volunteer projects interest you and sign the volunteer agreement which requires a basic background check before volunteer service can begin.
  2. If approved for service, you will be contacted within two weeks with volunteer orientation information and to schedule your first volunteer activity.
  3. At your first volunteer activity, a United Community staff member will greet you with a volunteer welcome packet, show you how to sign in and sign out, introduce you to the program staff you will work with and train you.
  4. After your first activity, a staff member will reach out to see how everything went and provide information about how to sign up again for additional opportunities.

We welcome companies, organizations, churches, or local clubs who are interested in volunteering as group. Please send an email to volunteer@unitedcommunity.org to coordinate a group volunteer project.
