DIAPERS

Parents can pick up diapers once a month.

In partnership with the Greater DC Diaper bank, Stepping Stones provides monthly diapers for children ages 0-3. Diapers are no longer provided once a child reaches age 3 unless the caregiver can provide documentation showing that the child requires them.

Parents must bring their child’s birth certificate or other documentation.

EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION

The Early Learning Center cares for and educates children
ages 6 weeks through Preschool.

United Community’s Early Learning Center (ELC) is a Virginia Quality Certified childcare center that is dedicated to providing curriculum-based childhood education to promote the social and emotional development of every child.

In addition to providing quality childcare, we also participate in the Virginia Preschool Initiative (VPI) — which provides unique services such as Free Vision, Dental, and Medical Screenings for each child. In addition, our tuition is all-inclusive covering meals, snacks, activities, field trips, and more!

The ELC is now accepting applications for children of all ages (Infant – PreK).

For more information, visit the ELC website!

FAMILY SUPPORT: Healthy Families Fairfax – Mount Vernon

An intensive, evidence-based, parenting education and support program that successfully prevents child abuse and neglect in high-risk families.

The Healthy Families Program helps parents:

  1. Promote positive parenting
  2. Improve child health and development
  3. Promote school readiness

Partnering with the Fairfax County Department of Health and Human Services, HFF’s Family Resource Specialists conduct an initial Family Assessment to determine the families eligibility and needs.

Family Support Specialists meet with parents one-on-one in person, via phone, or virtual home visit to provide home-based parenting education, health information, community support and school readiness training from the mother’s pregnancy until the child reaches age three.
