Sacramento Families Explore the Environment
United Community’s Sacramento Neighborhood Center participated in Fairfax County NAACP’s Family Fun Day at Mount Vernon Woods Park on Saturday, June 4. Families enjoyed eco-friendly activities and learned more about environmental resources in the community. Community members of all ages enjoyed an afternoon of environmental exploration, including bird watching, counting caterpillars, and flower dying. Families also made DIY binoculars, participated in recycling relay races, and played other outdoor games.
Doubling Our Capacity
Thanks to a generous gift from Fairfax County, United Community has doubled the cold storage capacity for our food program. Our new walk-in fridge and freezer provided by the County were installed at the beginning of May and we couldn’t be more pleased.
