FAMILY ACHIEVEMENT PROGRAM
One-on-one coaching with families to help them reach their goals of self-sufficiency and independence through personal financial, educational, and professional goals.
FAP Coaches are available to provide basic short-term support for emotional, financial, and social distress.
For some parents, the lack of access to affordable childcare is a huge challenge. FAP provides limited childcare assistance and partners with Fairfax County Office for Children for long term services.
FAP provides financial assistance in the form of rent and utility assistance for active participants in the FAP program. Families must be enrolled and actively working towards self-sufficiency for at least 30 days to qualify.
Finding stable employment is a key part of self-sufficiency. FAP partners with community organizations to provide job training, skills development, and job placement for families. FAP also offers paid apprenticeships to qualified participants.
Families are provided a FAP Coach who works one-on-one with families to identify and achieve their personal financial, educational, and professional goals.
Together with a network of local community-based organizations and county agencies, FAP connects families with the resources and opportunities they need to accomplish those goals.
